Jess is a fiber and mixed media artist located in Honolulu. She started weaving in 2016 and fell in love with the tactile nature of the craft, and has been playing with fiber ever since. Each of her pieces is a modern take on a time-honored craft inspired by the textures found in nature. All fibers are 100 % natural and she uses hand-spun, hand-dyed fibers from talented artisans whenever possible. Her work has grown to include techniques of macrame and punch needle, as well as elements of watercolor and beading.
Jess’s current exhibit is an homage to the islands. Through her work you can see her natural ability to use color and texture to create a world that is as inviting as it is surreal. The details in her weaving, bead work, and painting are worthy of an up-close viewing.
