We’re making mugs, everyone’s favorite piece of functional art! In this 3-hr workshop we’ll discuss all things clay, then make our very own mug using three techniques: pinching, coiling, and pulling (for handles).

If you’ve taken a mug workshop with me before, you know that the form of the pot is just as difficult as designing it. In this workshop we’ll focus on form (how do I make my mug taller? what’s the right shape for my cappuccino?) and texture (how do I get a smooth surface vs. a textured one?). After we get our basic shape down, then I will teach you how to make clean, refined, and elegant handles using the “pulling” technique.

At the end of the workshop you’ll get to choose a glaze combo and your mug will be fired and ready for pickup in 4-6 weeks (we can also ship your mug anywhere in the US!)

All materials are provided. Just bring yourself & wear comfortable clothes. Trimmed nails help!

*** Once you sign up for the workshop, you will automatically be registered. You will receive an email the week of the working with detailed instructions. All workshops are nonrefundable. You may cancel up to 72hrs before the workshop begins for store credit or towards another workshop at the gallery. Artists have the right to cancel a workshop or move the workshop date at their discretion, due to illness. You will be notified as soon as possible if this rarity does occur.
